Where is the show performed?
The Homecoming plays at Athenaeum Theatre 2, on the third level of the historic Athenaeum Theatre, 188 Collins Street, Melbourne. Entry is via the main Athenaeum foyer.
Is seating reserved or general admission?
All performances are general admission — first in, best dressed. Doors open approximately 30 minutes before curtain. We recommend arriving early to secure your preferred seat.
How big is the theatre?
Athenaeum Theatre 2 is an intimate 300-seat studio space. There isn't a bad seat in the house — every audience member is within touching distance of the action, which makes Pinter's pressure cooker of a play land harder than ever.
How long is the show?
Approximately 2 hours and 10 minutes, including a 20-minute interval. Latecomers will be admitted only at a suitable break, at the discretion of front-of-house staff.
Is the show suitable for all ages?
Recommended for ages 15+. The play contains strong language, sexual references and themes of family violence in line with Pinter's original text.
Is the venue accessible?
Athenaeum Theatre 2 is upstairs from the main foyer with lift access available. If you have specific access requirements, please contact the box office in advance and we'll make sure you're well looked after.
What about food and drinks?
A licensed bar operates in the foyer before the show and during interval. There are dozens of restaurants and bars within a two-minute walk on Collins Street and Bourke Street.
What is the refund and exchange policy?
Tickets are non-refundable but can usually be exchanged for another performance subject to availability, provided you contact the box office at least 24 hours before your scheduled show.
